Selecting Clothing for your
Senior Portrait
|
Be sure to check with your yearbook advisor for any special requirements your school may have for the picture that appears in the yearbook.
We encourage you to bring a variety
of clothing. Be Creative! Feel free to bring extra clothing changes, hats, props, musical instruments,
hobby items, school uniforms, boy or girl friend, or even your dog or cat
if you like! Let us know in advance so we'll be sure to schedule lots of
time for your sitting. Keep in mind that because of the variety of poses
we do your waist may show in some of the photos. Avoid wearing jeans
or shorts because you think they “won’t show” in the portrait.
|
| Ladies: We recommend a more formal outfit for your studio sitting such as a solid color dress, or a blouse, sweater, and matching slacks or skirt. A traditional black drape is available at the studio on request. Your outdoor sitting can be in more casual clothing such as jeans, sweaters, sports outfits, casual dresses or shorts. Medium to darker colors usually photograph best in the studio and natural tones outdoors. In all cases wear solid tones avoiding stripes, plaids and patterns. Wear hair and makeup in your normal manner, and be sure to polish your nails since they may show in some photos. |

Gentlemen: We recommend a more formal outfit for your studio sitting such as a coat and tie or collard sport shirt with matching slacks. Your outdoor sitting can be in more casual clothing such as jeans, sweaters, sports outfits, or shorts. Medium to darker colors usually photograph best in the studio and natural tones outdoors. In all cases wear solid tones avoiding stripes, plaids and patterns. Hair should be neatly trimmed and grown out a week or two from you most recent cut. Be sure to shave closely the morning of your sitting.
